Design Philosophy

The Ambition
Martin Legg has for many years wanted to create hand made furniture that he himself would be proud to have in his own home. He does not want to own items of furniture that are produced by C.N.C. machines, mass produced, made of resin or venerred or are flat packed. His creations are for the very discerning customer. These are a 'one off' product, an original. This is Bespoke Furniture.

The Creation
He uses only traditional tools, with the aid of a few electrical appliances. Each one of his unique sculptures is also a practical piece of furniture.

The hard woods he uses are chosen for quality, appearance, flowering and grain. Pleasing to the eye, functional and unique. The Slate used is the finest Welsh Blue Slate. These creations are very tactile. The colour of the hardwoods used are very pleasing to the eye and enhance the creation.

Your eye is immediately drawn to one of these sculptures when walking into a room. - These are collectable items.

The Final
Each item of furniture is unique, your item will be slightly different from others of it type produced.

Martin has many ideas for unique themed creations and is willing to undertake specific commissions. He will only work in the medium of hard woods. These are very complex and time consuming pieces to make. Therefore only a limited amount of any type will be made.
